RADIO 2 LOUD

Indianapolis, Indiana (SafeCITY) - Brent Heitz, a 30-year-old Indiana man, was jailed after he allegedly ran down his girlfriend's mother because she asked him to turn down the car radio.

According to Indianapolis police, Heitz, his girlfriend and his girlfriend's mother were in Heitz' vehicle when the mother asked that he turn down the car's radio.

When Heitz reportedly reached back to punch the woman, she got out of the vehicle and stated that she would walk the rest of the way home.

That is when Heitz reportedly put the vehicle in reverse, backed up the car and ran over the woman - dragging her into the street. Heitz then reportedly sped away from the scene, leaving the woman sprawled out in the road.

The woman, identified as Connie Farr, was found by police lying in the street with wounds and abrasions to her stomach and face. She also complained of pain to her head.

A police dog tracked Heitz down as he attempted to hide in the backyard of nearby home. Heitz shouted and spat at officers as he was taken into custody and led to a waiting patrol car.

He was booked into jail on charges of criminal recklessness, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a license.

Farr was transported to Methodist Hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
